Family Tree Research

I trace your family through original records — census returns, parish registers, certificates — and turn what I find into a report your whole family will actually enjoy reading.

  • Birth, marriage and death certificates from 1837
  • Parish registers reaching back before civil registration
  • Wills, probate records and newspaper archives
  • Occupations, addresses and the texture of daily life

What you receive

The Railwayman’s Secret

A grandfather who “never talked about his family” turned out to have a very good reason — and sixty descendants who never knew each other existed.

Questions families ask

How far back can you go?

For most English and Welsh families, the early 1800s is reliably reachable, and many lines extend into the 1700s or beyond through parish registers. During your free call I’ll give you an honest view based on your family’s counties and surnames — before you spend anything.

What if you find nothing new?

That is rare, and the free viability assessment exists to prevent it. If a commissioned project genuinely uncovers nothing beyond what you already had, I refund 90% of the fee.

Do I need to have done any research already?

No. Whatever you have — a few names, a shoebox of certificates, a half-finished Ancestry tree — is a useful start, but none of it is required.

Not sure where to start?

Fifteen minutes on the phone will tell you what’s possible. Free, no obligation, no sales pitch.
